The Carlyle is a New York classic!

If you are looking for a very special place to stay then you should look no further.  Alternatively if you just want a romantic drink in a classic ‘New York’ location you should stop by Bemelmans Bar and enjoy a cocktail whilst listening to some of their fantastic house jazz musicians.  This is not one to miss on your trip!  Our advice is to go late evening for an after dinner cocktail or in the afternoon for tea.   It is a very special place for Aurora and Philip as after Philip proposed, he surprised Aurora with dinner at the Carlyle to watch Woody Allen play with his jazz band.  It was a truly special evening in both of their lives.

The Carlyle hotel is named after British essayist Thomas Carlyle, this hotel is a charming and quietly elegant art decco hotel located in the affluent area of the Madison Avenue and has been a city mainstay since 1930. Notably it has been host to John F. Kennedy, Marylin Monroe, Princess Diana, Roger Federer and many more.

The hotel's Café Carlyle has featured a number of well-known jazz performers - notably George Feyer, Bobby Short and Woody Allen.
